| Kinda forgot about you there xanga. Been busy as of late, but UC apps and SATs are two things in my life I will never have to do again. That is a stupendous feeling. I went to France for a week, mainly Paris and Versailles. It was beautiful...all the grandiose architecture is amazing. Living in the US it's so different because our country is so new and never thrived in a system of monarchy and nobles and lords and all that shit. So the buildings are just so breathtakingly big with so much historic value that it's great. For instance, the Louvre museum in Paris used to actually be a palace of some really rich dude who could afford (hah) to basically pay nothing to slaves to build him this palace. And this period of construction had to have had a length of decades. I saw the Palace of Versailles of Louis XVIth the Sun King. Wow, they had the smallest beds. French people are short, but they must have been crazy short like centuries ago. haha....anyway the Palace was just ridiculously huge. Beautiful and all but it's like I keep thinking about how many destitute French people must have died so Louis could build himself a nice home which could never possibly have been thoroughly used. Unless he had the whole fucking French court live with him, which he probably did considering he was a king and thus obviously a slut. I mean it's there for the beauty but dude I'm so glad I don't live in a society that accepts such omnipotent authorities with wealthy powers......wait JUST KIDDING. Cause yeah I do. It's just manipulation in a different way, but I'm sure that 4 centuries from now the generation will look back on ours and think what the fuck? Why did people deal with that and take such bullshit? And the philosophical people will say, "But that's how it was back then. People just thought differently." The same way we say it now. Weird. Back to France though, it was just fun city life. Lots of people out on the streets at every hour of the day. It's like the city that never sleeps (like any urbania) Best night had to have been w/ my sis, starting off at a corner bar getting faded and gradually conversing with 2 guys next to us, one of whom was British and the other Spanish. They both live in Paris now, but they were nice and engaged us with conversation. Then they offered to take us to a disco, and this was my ultimate wish on the trip. Ahhh, so great, my sister and my own entrance paid, open bar (yes, we stuck to the champagne), and goog global music to get your freak on too. Lots of guys (one guy swore I was from Sweden hah) and lots of cigarettes. Yeah, thats the fallacy I find in French ppl. They smoke way too much, but hey it's a cultural thing. In restaurants, before the meal, in between bites, after the meal, with coffee, all the time! But whatever. French food is way too good. Didn't try frogs legs (which everyone ALWAYS asks me) but did try some escargot. It was good! Yum snails. Lots of wine. I love that. Like I honestly don't understand he legitimacy of the age 21 rule concerning alcohol in the US. In France, it's chill. Here, it's like oh yes you're an adult when you're 18, so you must be smart enough to at least be informed and vote for the people that govern our lives. But handle alcohol? No way man. You have 3 more years of growing up to do before you can have that. That's fucking bullshit. I sincerely think that by not allowing something, that something is made even more tempting. In France (and all of Europe really), it's inbred in them to drink alcohol so by the time they are adults they can handle it. I'm sure the French rate of illegal drinking and driving is much better than that of the U.S. Just being there and with the people of the culture, it's just not regarded as this sinful thing that creates bad. Something more spiritual about it almost. I dunno, thats alcohol for you. Anything to help you have a god time will be deemed dangerous to your health. A lot like weed. I really don't have energy to go into that topic though, hah. Trippy song: Beatles- Within You With Out You. Random but my current playlist as reached it and it's enticing me. So what else to tell you about France? I don;t speak a word of Frnech so that was difficult and thus made using the metro and understanding the trains complicating. Just needed 2-3 days to get used to it, then my family and I had it down. But generally, I thought Parisiens were very nice. No one gave me a hard time. I do know however that every Parisien thinks Bush is a dumbass and wonders how a influential nation could have succumbed to his conservatively disgusting policies. Yeah, they understand but not even half the U.S. can? I cant understand it and I'm gonig to stop trying tonight. All in all my trip was wonderful and now I'm home counting the days until christmas break and christmas and new years (south shore tahoe baby yeah) and freedom. Alright I feel that all of the thought in me has been spilled into this site in a messy blob of words and fragmented sentences. But that's how a diary is supposed to be I guess. Bed sounds nice now, but I won't be able to fall asleep so I think I'm gunna look up stuff online. Quick note: 5th album from Incubus is coming out February 4th and its called something like "A Crow on Left Murder" or "A Crow Left of Murder" or some shit like that hah. Counting the days until that as well! Ok, I'm leaving. If you have read this far then wow you must be actually interested in what I say and think and you are worth it. I bet I could name you, too. :) Goodnight loves
